2009 is almost over (as
well as the decade). How did automakers do this year? Pretty
much horrible across the board as this was the worst year in
twenty years for the auto industry. It's been a rough year but
the road to recovery is just beyond the horizon.
The
Toyota Camry was able to claim the number two spot this year
taking it away from the
Chevrolet Silverado. It was refreshed for the 2010 model
year with a new front fascia and other minor changes.
The
Chevrolet Silverado switched spots this year with the
Toyota Camry. It hasn't been significantly updated for
awhile now which might explain the sales slip. The Silverado is
the only vehicle that made the top ten.
The
Toyota Corollawas able to climb above the Honda Accord this
year and still remains the best-selling nameplate in history. It
was redesigned to look more like the Camry which may explain the
rise in sales.
The
Honda Accordis beginning to slip a little bit still remains a
strong seller at the number five spot. It was redesigned in 2008 which
makes it a tad older than the redesigned Corolla and refreshed Camry.
