Feature: 2009 Ten Best-Selling Vehicles vs 2008 Ten Best-Selling Vehicles December 29, 2009 AUTORIVALS.NET
2009 is almost over (as well as the decade). How did automakers do this year? Pretty much horrible across the board as this was the worst year in twenty years for the auto industry. It's been a rough year but the road to recovery is just beyond the horizon.

#6

Nissan Altima

Honda Civic
The Nissan Altima was able to take the number six spot versus number seven last year. It was recently revised with a new front fascia for the 2010 model year making it look better than before.
#7

Ford Escape

Nissan Altima
The Ford Escape was the best-selling SUV this year helped significantly by the Cash for Clunkers program. It was restyled in 2008 to look more like the Ford Explorer.
#8

Honda CR-V

Chevrolet Impala
The Honda CR-V is the only other SUV to make it this year. With more importance on fuel economy and the environment these days, large SUVs are getting more and more unpopular. The CR-V was given a front fascia and other minor changes for the 2010 model year. The Chevrolet Impala didn't do as for 2009 as it did in 2008.
#9

Ford Fusion

Dodge Ram
The Ford Fusion might be Ford's greatest hope. It was redesigned for the 2010 model year but has already become a powerhouse winning awards and cracking the top ten. It should be able to do just as well if not better for the next year. The Dodge Ram wasn't able to make the cut this year.
#10

Honda Civic

Honda CR-V
And last but not least is the Honda Civic. Somehow it fell four spots from last year but still remains in the top ten. Honda's CR-V is making up the slack though. The Civic got a new front end and a few other small changes for the 2009 model year.
