| The new Regal and S60 continue
Buick's and Volvo's new design direction. The Regal is German
designed (based on the Opel Insignia) and has already been
available in China since 2008. It's a bit late to our shores but
still arrives ahead of the Volvo S60. |

The similarities to the Opel Insignia from Europe are obvious
(because it's basically the same car). The look is a large
improvement over past Buick's but maybe because it's not really
a Buick? |
|

The front fascia is a bit unusual and Volvo seems to be
following the trend of having a separated turn signal like the
new Mercedes-Benz E-Class. It doesn't look good on the S60 and
seems out of place. |
|
|

The bottom crease leading up the the A-pillar is a dead giveaway
for the Opel Insignia. Nevertheless, it looks good as well as
the rest of the design. Just not as stellar as the S60. |
|

The Volvo's new design mixes a sharp creases with curvature.
It's a large improvement over the predecessor and outshines the
Regal with a more provocative design. |

 |
| Not sure what happened here. The
Regal's rear doesn't match the rest of the car with an
integrated trunk lip. It looks a bit too generic and can't match
the S60's sleek new look. The Volvo's C-pillar comes back
straight and smooth like a fastback which creates a slick look. |
|
|

There's a bit of Chrysler Sebring in the rear design (which is
an awful mistake). Buick (read: GM) didn't bother trying to
restyle anything from the Opel aside from the badge. The rear
fascia is a bit too stubby compared with the tall S60 rear. The
license plate would've been better placed on the trunk like the
S60 but at least its got dual exhausts. |
|

Comparisons are already being made from the Volvo S60 rear
fascia to the Honda Civic sedan rear fascia. The taillight and
license plate shapes are the most notable similarities but the
rest of the design looks far better. The squared-off trunk lid
with a two level design looks spectacular. Don't get your hopes
up for the full panoramic roof or unique exhaust pipes. |
|
|

The Regal's interior isn't as upscale as it's bigger brother,
the Lacrosse, and uses darker materials instead. The materials
don't seem as luxurious as they should be. The layout might be
better though with the center screen up high and a nicely styled
gauge cluster. |
|

Don't freak out people. The picture shown is from the concept
version. Although it's just a concept, the design does hint at
what is to come in the production version. The dashboard design
is similar to the current S60 with the the center stack
connected to the gauge cluster housing. Aside from that, your
guess is my guess as to what is to come. |
