With all the attention the Ford Fusion is getting these days, it's sometimes easy to forget about its brother from another mother, the Mercury Milan. The Milan and Fusion are virtually the same car with a few different internals and most noticeably different sheet metal. For the 2010 model year, hybrid versions are available for the first time and have been regarded as some of the best hybrids powertrains available today.
2010 Mercury Milan vs 2010 Ford Fusion
The Milan gets a softer look than the aggressive Fusion. The grille is toned down to appeal to the older crowd and the headlights are turned vertical rather than horizontal. The lower grille remains trapezoidal but not as distinguished as the Fusion. Overall, the Milan looks a little more streamlined with smoother sheet metal and less design enhancements. The Fusion's wide grille and horizontal headlights give it a wider, sportier appearance though.
Things are less differentiating from the side. The Milan places the reflector on the wheel arch rather than the lower bumper like Fusion but the profile, doors, and windows are the same. The Milan is 1.6 inches shorter but the exact same width and height.
The rear fascias of both cars aren't exactly each model's strong suit. The opposite is done with the taillights with horizontal lights for the Milan and vertical for the Fusion. The trunk isn't as sculpted with a flat, simpler look.
The dashboard is identical but gets a two-tone treatment for an added visual appeal. The center stack gets a similar metallic finish as the Fusion with the large optional information screen as the vocal point.
