Ford has completely redesigned
its once pinnacle Taurus (in the 1980s) and finally has a real
contender. The Accord on the other hand, has long reigned as one
of the top segment leaders.

2010 Honda Accord |

The Taurus front end is quite striking and has similar styling cues
as the
Ford Mondeos in Europe (a great looking car we don't
get). The trapezoidal lower grille resembles a mouth but fits the
front fascia well. |
|

The Accord is muscular yet still understated enough to not offend
anybody. The grille is bold and hopefully won't suffer from
getting the grille from other Hondas (like the Honda Pilot) in
the future. |

The Taurus is very long and looks it but it's not as bad as it
could've been. The designers increased the height to compensate.
The dimensions in general are a disappointment as Ford made it
into
a very large sedan. |
|

The Accord looks better proportioned with a nice overall length
and height. However, Honda also decided to increase the
dimensions making this the largest Accord in history. The taller
windows keep the profile from looking excessively long. |
|
|
|

From the side profile, the rear end seems to fit but at this
angle, its excessively flat with little to no curves. |
|

The trunk bulges out a bit and is somewhat curvaceous unlike the
front which is more angular. |
|
 |
|
 |
| Something seems to have gone wrong with both the Taurus and
Accord rear ends. They seem rather plain compared to the rest of
each respective car and don't seem to mesh well with the overall
design. Its as if the designers got tired after crafting the
front and lazily finished it. |
|
|

The Taurus goes for the symmetrical look somewhat similar to
Mustang dashboard. |
|

The Accord dashboard suffers from too many buttons on an
unattractive bulge in the center stack. |
